Family Worship — from the New City Catechism

Question 32:  What do justification and sanctification mean?

Answer:  Justification means our declared righteousness before God. Sanctification means our gradual, growing righteousness.

1 Peter 1:1–2

To those who are elect exiles . . . according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you

FYI-- Pastor Matt has posted Sunday School "Gospel Project" activity pages on the website under "News", so families can continue to learn and worship together.

New City Catechism — what is it?

The New City Catechism is a resource to help children and adults learn the core teachings of the Christian faith through 52 questions and answers.  The answers are in 2 formats, one for children and one for adults.  What a great way to deepen your understanding of biblical truths and help in worshiping as a family.  Check it out at newcitycatechism.com.

  •  Go to www.knollwood.ca/giving to give online via debit card or credit card.
  •  Through text message by sending a text to 84321 with the amount you want to donate.
  •  Via Interac transfer by sending your gift to [email protected]
  •  Put your offering envelope in the mailbox at the east doors.  Beth will be checking for mail daily.
  •  Lastly, you can contact Kevin Knight at [email protected].  He will arrange for someone to come   to your home to pick up your offering.

Sermon Notes  -- Pastor Matt Freele

The Crown and the Temple
Zechariah 6:9-15

Zechariah 6:9-11 A priestly-king crowned
Zechariah 6:12-13 A priestly-king promised

Zechariah 6:14-15 A priestly-king anticipated

Big Idea:
Jesus our priestly-king calls us to rest in him with faith, hope and obedience
Questions:
  1. What significance does the symbolism of a priest being crowned have on our understanding of Christ?
  2. What areas of your life are you having a difficult time faithfully trusting in God?
  3. What have you found difficult when it comes to obeying God and following His commands?
  4. What truths from God’s Word have given you hope in difficult times and situations?
