Last Sunday, we celebrated 80 years of God's faithfulness to us. In God's unique timing, government restrictions lifted and we were able to worship in person. It was a blessing to see members of the Knollwood family from the past and the present.
Dr. Buck's message helped us look back and look forward, as he encouraged us to stay devoted to the Word, devoted to uplifting each other, and devoted to being faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ. The music from the worship team from Summerside was uplifting and encouraging as well. Everyone loved the wall of memories created by Alyssa Freele. The cupcakes, although a little melty, were delicious.
One of the highlights was the Anniversary Video, created by videographer Daniel from King of Hearts Media. You can watch the video again here 80th Anniversary Video
Children's church begins today. Kids will be dismissed before the sermon.
Activity Sheets -- This week we are on Unit 22 Week 2.
Question 43: What are the sacraments or ordinances?
Answer: The sacraments or ordinances given by God and instituted by Christ, namely baptism and the Lord’s Supper, are visible signs and seals that we are bound together as a community of faith by his death and resurrection. By our use of them the Holy Spirit more fully declares and seals the promises of the gospel to us.
Children's Answer: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
Thank you so much for your faithful giving!
When worshiping in person, you can place your offering in the plate at the back of the auditorium.
Ways of giving while worshiping from home:
On somewhat short notice, Jessie and I will be travelling to Kavieng on June 18th together with three other trainers to teach a 4-week Translator Training Course to eight Tiaang speakers! We are very excited about how God has opened the way for this to finally happen. Please pray for all the logistics to go smoothly, that the teaching staff will have sufficient time to prepare all the lessons (it will be my first time teaching this course), that the teachers and students will all work well together, that we will all stay healthy for the duration of the course, and that the technology will work as it should. Pray for God’s protection over us, and that the students will learn well and become motivated and committed long-term members of our translation team.
