Jesus Calms a Storm | Matthew 8:23-27

We fear when control is stripped away.

In Matthew 8:23–27, Jesus calms a violent storm — but not before exposing the disciples’ little faith. As waves crash and panic rises, Jesus sleeps. Then with a word, He rebukes the wind and sea, and a great calm follows.

This sermon explores what storms reveal about our theology, how fear competes with faith, and what this miracle teaches us about the identity of Jesus. He is not merely present in the storm — He is sovereign over it.
