Oaths And Integrity | Matthew 5:33-37

Jesus’ command to let our “yes” be yes and our “no” be no is more than a call to honesty—it’s a call to kingdom integrity.

In this sermon on Matthew 5:33–37, we examine how oaths were used to mask dishonesty, why Jesus rejects a two-tier system of truthfulness, and how our everyday speech reflects our allegiance to Christ. We also wrestle honestly with our failure to meet Jesus’ perfect standard and are led to the gospel, where Christ fulfills the law for us and transforms our hearts by His Spirit.

This message encourages believers to live as trustworthy witnesses, grounded not in self-effort, but in the faithfulness of Jesus.
