Why do some people hear the gospel and reject it while others receive it and bear fruit?
In Matthew 13:1–23, Jesus tells the Parable of the Sower and reveals that the difference is not in the seed but in the soil. Through this parable, Jesus explains why some reject Him, why others follow Him, why the kingdom appears hidden to some, and why fruit distinguishes true disciples.
This sermon examines the condition of the heart, the purpose of Jesus’ parables, God’s sovereign grace, human responsibility, and the evidence of genuine faith.
Big Idea: God graciously gives understanding that produces fruitful disciples.
Scripture: Matthew 13:1–23
